Nice one, this remind me of an article on canard Pc (which is only in French sadly), where they interviewed a lot of people about trophies. And yes some players play games only for trophies. I think this can be a way to play more of a game you like. But sometimes this is getting close to the use of skins in multi-player games. This makes people feel different or unique, in a game that so much more players are enjoying. You could extend this thinking to visual ranking system. I'm not into this kind of things, ranked, skins or collectables. I find it annoying to get notified and break from the immersion on my Xbox or on steam for exemple. But hey, if this make some people happier, why not.
